Alameda Beach
On the beautiful day we all went to the beach. It was a hot day and we started our trip from Broadway near Oakland Tech. We waited for the bus to arrive and when it got there we all hopped on it and made our way to Alameda. Once we got to the beach we all separated to play soccer, lay on the blankets, or hang out with other students. Near the beach I met the Husky dog. She was so friendly and her owner let us take pictures. It was very playful dog. Then I start walking around the beach and I saw a lot of little kids swimming near the beach. After couple of hours we left the and on our way home we bought some ice cream. This trip was fun, but it would be more better if we had more activities to do.
Street Fashion at UC Berkeley and Pier 39
When we went to UC Berkeley I saw people wearing suits or casual clothes with the CAL logo. It means that they were very educated people working in offices or college students. When we approached downtown Berkeley I start seeing weird people who were very dirty and were probably homeless. When we went to Pier 39 I saw a person covered in a newspaper uniform. That really surprised me. The person who was wearing it made the uniform by himself. Even his shoes were made with newspapers. His face was covered in silver paint. He was trying to hustle money with his weird outfit. People who wore suits were the ones who work in professional jobs. Most of them were white people and Asians. The UC Berkeley students were from different countries. Person in the newspaper outfit was probably poor and didn't have another job so he had to get money this way.
Art Review of Mission District Murals
Today, I saw Murals of Nepal in Balmy Alley in San Francisco. It was in the Mission District. The mural was painted very neatly and beautifully on a wall. The picture represents a lot of things. Our tour guide told us many stories about the Mission District murals. In the Artwork, you can see people protesting together in one group which I believe represents a political or social message of struggles and empowerment. In the artwork, you can see a lady crying with her head down and then her head is up which I believe represents that she and other will break the chain in the picture that represents control of the people and stand up for their country. This picture means a lot to me. A lot of people in my country also fight for social and political rights. I would like to have a copy of this mural in my room.
Cultural Review of the Mission District
Today, I experienced Mexican culture in the Mission District of San Francisco. One thing I learned about culture is that they like to eat tacos. The tacos were delicious. They were small, with tortillas, chicken, onion, cilantro, and salsa. In this fieldtrip, I saw murals on the walls all over the streets and in the restaurants. This is different than my culture because in my culture people are not allowed to draw on the walls. In this fieldtrip, I saw and heard people from different countries and shops. Most people were speaking Spanish. This is different than my culture because in my culture we speak Russian. I felt very happy to be in Mission District. I liked the way they had murals on the walls. I would like to visit other places in the Mission to explore more things.

Albany Bowl
On Friday June 11th we went to the Albany bowl. I came to school very late and my class was gone. I had my ride so I picked some other late students from school and we rode to Albany. When we got there we saw students playing bowling and it looked really fun. We rented some shoes and start playing game. I played against TJay, and Jose P. We played two games and I won both of them. When the game was over students went to play pool and other video games. I really liked playing bowling and I want to go there again.
Tilden
On Thursday June 10th we went to visit Tilden Regional Park in Berkeley. We took a long trip with a bus and walk down the hill to get there. It was a hot day. We saw animals like cows, goats, rabbits, pigs, ships, chicken's, and turkey's. These animals were very friendly and we got chance to feed them with lettuce and other vegetables. Our group stayed there for a little while and then we head to another place to play soccer. Students from my class had a game. They played against eachother and got very tired. Then we sat down and relaxed on the grass under the tree shades. When it was time we left the Tilden park and got separated after we got off the bus.

Old Oakland
On Monday June 7th we went to visit the Old Oakland. That place wasn’t new for me because I live in Oakland for more than 4 years and I have visited most places here. On out field trip we met one lady who was our tour. She showed us lots of old buildings which were saved from long ago. In there we saw lots of different coffee shops and restaurants. They were from different counties like Chinese restaurants, Indian food, etc. I was happy to see Swans place where new homes were built for people to live inside of the Swans place. The last place we visited in Old Oakland was City Hall. We went inside and I saw some gifts from different countries and there was one from Russia. The city hall was rebuilt after the earthquake and now it looks better. There were a lot of courtrooms, but we didn’t get a chance to visit them. When we went out there was a spot to stay and scream to hear your own echo. The picture on the top shows me staying there and saying “HELLO OAKLAND”. It was cool to hear my own echo. People in Oakland show a lot of respect to our City Hall by keeping it clean and nice.
UC Berkeley
One of our trips was to UC Berkeley. When we got out of the school we took bus to the University. First we walked in through the big gates of University. In there we saw one circle place where you cannot be arrested. While we were walking around the campus I saw a lot of cool things. We went inside of one building to see the dinosaur and it was huge. When we kept walking I saw generation of monkey. We spent a lot of time going around the campus exploring new things. Then the lunch time came and everyone separated. I and some of my friends went inside of shops to see what they had for sale. Eventually we didn't buy anything, but we get to see a lot of clothing tagged with UC Berkeley or CAL signs. Pictures on the right show the whole UC Berkeley campus and another picture shows me and my friends sitting on the benches in UC Berkeley by the clock tower. We had a great opportunity to learn about one of the famous Universities and walk around it. Some students from our class were interviewing UC students. We asked a lot of interesting questions and learned some things that UC students think.

Posting by the Murals
This picture is of my friend Tjay in black shirt and me in white jacket. We took this picture to show that in San Francisco Mission District we saw two kinds of Murals. The first mural was just paintings which is on the left side. The other kind of Murals is on the right side. Those murals were made with painted wood. What I liked about the wooden murals was that we could feel them. These murals were painted on the small streets on private walls. They remain to stay clean because everyone respects them. I think it wouldn't be a good idea to spray something over them because it took a lot of work to draw and make them.
San Francisco Mission Murals
On June 3rd we went to the field trip with our teachers. We went to the San Francisco Mission District to see Murals. First thing we did is we got tour guide guy as you see on the picture above. He told us everything about murals we saw. There were some great things we found out about them. For example in the picture above we can see lady with a baby and a letter in her hand. There also a road which represents traveling. This woman's husband wrote her a letter saying he was doing alright in California, but he missed them too. The Mission Murals is a great place to visit and see great work of famous artists.

Truth, Honesty and No Lies
I wonder why people lie and think it is better then being honest.
I hear whispering lies and very good tries.
I see short and tall people around.
I want this world to have a change.
I am I am an OIHS student.
I pretend that I believe what people say.
I see lies in their eyes.
I worry if they become true.
I cry because the world is a lie.
I am an OIHS student.
I understand that sometimes we have to lie.
I say it is better to tell the truth.
I dream that one day everyone would be honest.
I try to not lie and be different from others.
I hope there would be no lies, but only honesty.
I hear whispering lies and very good tries.
I see short and tall people around.
I want this world to have a change.
I am I am an OIHS student.
I pretend that I believe what people say.
I see lies in their eyes.
I worry if they become true.
